The Flowershop Cafe

The wooden exterior of The Flowershop Cafe embraces you with an abundance of plants, sheltering you from the city, while the interior is a sanctuary of greenery and a playground for the senses. From the fresh smell of flowers and ivy creeping across the walls, to the bright green Icelandic moss in the tables and the soft music playing in the background, The Flowershop Cafe is our little garden paradise in the centre of chaotic Lagos. This is an apt description, as the word paradise comes from an ancient Persian word used to describe a beautiful garden enclosure.

Its namesake, The Flowershop, is tucked in a colourful corner overflowing with exotic flowers, tempting you to walk away with a bouquet. No matter where you are in the cafe, you are surrounded by the most beautiful gifts of nature, and that in and of itself is what makes the Flowershop Cafe so special.

There is an energy about the cafe that makes you want to spend as much time there as possible, from breakfast to lunch to drinks, and even dinner. Spend breakfast with a friend over a light Mini Mezza Breakfast, a duo of dishes including a thick Lebanese yogurt, labneh, drizzled with olive oil, grilled halloumi cheese, a bowl of creamy marinated feta cheese and fresh vegetables accompanied with homemade za'atar crackers and pita bread; or maybe a hearty Flowershop Sunny Side Up breakfast with sunny side up eggs nestled in homemade brioche bread, a side of bacon, shiitake mushrooms and a crispy hash brown.

Catch up with your book on the bright orange couch with a creamy cappuccino or thick smoothie to tide you over until lunch, where you can choose from a variety of options from a Falafel Salad to a crispy Buffalo Chicken Burger. The salad is filled with the best ingredients, including imported mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, pickled beetroot and roasted baby carrots, and a spicy green falafel, topped with tahini dressing and grilled pita bread. The more filling burger is equally delicious, made with homemade brioche bread, crispy chicken with a secret coating, a garlic aioli and buffalo sauce and a side of their own smoked apple coleslaw.

After lunch, enjoy a well deserved cocktail with a colleague, a refreshing Blackberry Gin Basil, perhaps, while you wait for an appropriate amount of time to pass before you can order a small bite, because the starters are a must. A Mushroom Arancini or Fried Calamari will certainly keep you satisfied as you continue your culinary journey through the Flowershop Cafe menu. But be mindful to save some space for a main dish and dessert! The heart-warming Chicken Pot Pie will put a smile on your face, with flavours that will transport you to an old English pub. Made with chunky pieces of chicken, braised leek, mushroom and potato, topped with a perfectly crispy puff pastry lid, this is a feel-good dish.

The Flowershop Cafe was created with a great deal of love and passion. The beauty of the cafe is lovingly reflected in the presentation of everything they serve, a seamless flow from the cafe to the food. Their gourmet coffees are brought out on a wooden board branded with their logo, designed just for them, with a space carved out for the coffee cup and a homemade cookie. Every dish is presented in its own distinct way, from the wooden crates for the burgers, to the miniature cast iron pots for the Chicken Pot Pie. Every detail has been thought out by the most creative minds.

The Flowershop Cafe is a unique space where the beauty of flowers and plants come together with gourmet style cafe food that will keep you going back for more.
