Tiwa N' Tiwa Street Art Festival returns with the theme “Space of Imagination”.
Come feel the indomitable spirit of Lagos in a series of activities at Tiwa N’ Tiwa Street Art Festival which will hold from the 2nd to 4th of April 2020. Another year to experience art and culture on the streets of Lagos Island fostering social inclusion by creating spaces for interaction, exchange, and engagement.
With our experience working with the local community of Lagos Island in the last 6 years; Tiwa N’ Tiwa Street Art Festival this year, will once again reinvigorate the community through exciting and impactful array of programs including Youth Mentorship Program, Food Tour, Satellite
Hub Activations, 5k Paga Bazaar, Interactive sessions and the
main Street Party on Broad street.
About Tiwa N’ Tiwa
Tiwa N’ Tiwa Street Arts Festival is an annual street art festival taking place in Lagos Island, created to celebrate our identity and culture through great food, music, dance and street performances. Taking place from the 2nd to 4th of April 2020 in Lagos Island.
Mentorship Program: January - July
Tiwa N’ Tiwa Mentorship Programme was created to provide support for young emerging and yet-to-be-discovered artists, performers, and creatives between the ages of 15- 25 years.
The aim is to connect them with mentors or mentor organizations with annual productions to help them develop new and existing skills in their preferred art medium. For this year, we intend to identify and support at least 10 emerging artists from Lagos Island in the areas of music, dance and theater performance.
Satellite Hub: 2nd - 3rd April
A new addition to this year's festival is the Satellite Hubs, which will be executed through a series of locations dotted across Lagos Island with hub curators in the areas of film, dance, music and theatre each offering a unique and engaging experience from the next.
Interactive Lagos: 2nd April
One of the elements of the festival is the Interactive Talk session titled “A Vision Of Cultural Sustainability Through Intergenerational Transmission”and featuring a combination of stimulating panel talks, exhibitions, oral and visual presentations which focus on conversations around cultural identity, self-perception, heritage documentation, tourism
and sustainable development.
Paga 5k Bazaar: 4th April
The Paga 5K Bazaar is one of the most anticipated and densely populated parts of the street art festival connecting retailers with consumers. The Bazaar brings together the best of food and drink vendors as well as up and coming fashion retail brands, selling products within the range of Five Thousand Naira and below all facilitated through the Paga online.
Street Party: 4th April
The Street Art Festival on Broad Street, Lagos Island enjoins invited guests to take ownership of the streets and explore different mediums of creativity; dance, art installations, music, theatre, skating, stunt performances by over 200 performers.
